GOALS OF INTERNAL ARTS TRAINING

Students of Tai Chi Chuan decide to study for many different reasons. Some, because they wish to be able to defend themselves and their families. If that is the goal in mind, the internal arts offer some of the most sophisticated martial technique on the planet.

Some come simply to get in shape, and recapture some of their youthful vigor. The internal arts offer a balanced approach to health and fitness which is both vigorous and non-degenerating to the body. These arts offer the best of both worlds in both development of strength and flexibility.

Still others come looking for something they know they need but are not completely sure how to identify what that is. The internal arts are a complete and wholistic path of development.

All of these reasons are good reasons to study and chances are that the sincerely seeking student will find what they are looking for in one of the internal arts methods. If not in Tai-Chi, then in Hsing-I or Pa-Kua. These arts are similar enough to provide the same benefits but diverse enough to appeal to different peoples across the board.

The Internal Arts offer the balance of both worlds contained in the martial arts. They offer the vigorous training and honing of body reflexes and control, highly developed combative skills and the ability to defend oneself with ease and agility. And they couple this with a highly refined science of understanding your body and its workings toward the aim of preventative medicine and wholistic practices of health and the body energetics.

Tai Chi Chuan is much more than martial art. It is a comprehensive system of life training and discipline to provide the practitioner with a greater awareness of how to maintain his/her health, vitality, and life in the highest level of comfort and success possible.
